Description
World première of a Marsden Jazz Festival Commission
Alexander Bone (saxophone, EWI, keyboard), the inaugural BBC Young Musician Jazz Award Winner, also works as a producer with artists including Nile Rodgers, Rudimental and Kylie Minogue.
Toby Comeau (keyboard), a classically trained pianist and composer, is involved with numerous jazz projects, and has performed at Ronnie Scott’s, Love Supreme jazz festival and on BBC Radio 3.
Commissioned by Marsden Jazz Festival, this music is built on modern electronic dance-based grooves, overlaid with extensive improvisation and a freedom that grows straight out of jazz. Bone and Comeau are now based in the vibrancy and cultural diversity of London, but originate from the North-East and South-West of England respectively, and draw inspiration from the beauty and contrast of these two extremities.
With Michael Redfern (guitar), Joe Lee (bass), Floyer Sydenham (electronic drums) and Luke Tomlinson (drum kit).

Sponsor: Dr Strange
