Description
SK2 was formed in 2013 by drummer and musical director Dave Tyas to perform music by legendary composer and pianist Stan Kenton. They have played to great acclaim at the Wigan International Jazz Festival and Scarborough Jazz Festival.
Simon Gardner is one of the most sought after trumpeters in the UK. He has worked with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jnr, Buddy Rich, and Louis Bellson. He regularly plays first trumpet on Saturday nights in the Dave Arch orchestra on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The concert will feature Johnny Richards’ orchestrations of The Cuban Fire! Suite and West Side Story.
