Our 2018 appeal gets off to a great start
07 June 2018
We’ve been overwhelmed by the response we’ve had to our 2018 fundraising appeal – thank you!
So far, we’ve managed to raise nearly a quarter of the £12,000 we need to prevent major cuts to this year’s Marsden Jazz Festival.
We still need your help to raise just over £9,000 by Sunday 15th July to make sure up to 70 free gigs, the Saturday street parade and children’s workshops can all be included in this year’s festival.
We’re really grateful to the 35 people who have pledged to take part in our Adopt a Gig scheme. They include 19 adopters, 15 super adopters and one supreme adopter.
We’ve also received over £750 in donations through our MyDonate page, ranging from £5 to £250.
And Linfit Candles has pledged to split the proceeds from a raffle at Hudddersfield fire station’s Emergency Services Day on Saturday (11am to 4pm) between the festival and the fire fighters charity.
Every penny is important to us and will help make a massive difference to this year’s festival.
We really appreciate the comments about the festival on MyDonate and social media, and our appeal has also been covered by local media including this article in the Huddersfield Examiner.
Everyone who takes part in Adopt a Gig will be helping to support the free gigs and events at the festival. You can adopt a gig for yourself, as a gift for a friend or relative, or as an anonymous adopter.
We’re also usually able to claim an additional 25% on top of your donation from the government as part of the Gift Aid scheme as we’re a registered charity. Visit www.marsdenjazzfestival.com/adopt-a-gig to take part.
You can also follow the progress of our fundraising campaign and make a one-off donation of any amount at www.mydonate.bt.com/events/marsdenjazzfestival2018.
