Our major commission for 2012 is a week-long international collaboration with the history and heritage of Marsden at its core.

Martin KÃ¤lberer is a renowned Bavarian composer, multi-instrumentalist and virtuosic player of the hang. He will be exploring the moorland and industrial architecture of the village in collaboration with Yorkshire based musician, James Squire. James is well known for his work with members of the F-ire collective and RJCâ€™s â€œJ2RnBâ€ show, combining jazz, RnB, improvised music and dance. Alongside the composers will be visual artist Rachel Ellis and film-maker Peter Schmidbauer. Rachel and Peter will explore the connection between the music, the history and the landscapes.

This concert will be the culmination of an intense and exciting process, blending music, technology, projections, artworks and improvisations.

Please note: this concert will take place in an industrial location; please dress warmly and bring your own chairs.
