What Kind Of People Join?
All sorts. Our committee members come from a spectrum of backgrounds and interest. They have in common a love of a good time and a commitment to Marsden and to making music available to the widest possible audience.
What's Involved?
Becoming a committee member means that you join Marsden Jazz Festival Limited (there's a form involved... but it's not long!).
Committee members attend monthly meetings to plan the next Festival. As well as having your say over the content of the programme, you can get involved in any of the myriad of tasks needed to put on a festival. This could be writing for the website, helping with publicity and PR, t-shirt and brochure design and compilation, fundraising and applying for grants, discussing ticket prices and budgeting and many more. Committee members are eligible to vote on all decisions, to elect Trustees and to stand for for election as a Trustee. Trustees are the Directors of MJF Limited, and as such are responsible for the management of the festival in terms of proper governance and financial probity.
When and Where?
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 8pm, upstairs at Marsden Socialist Club, Manchester Road, Marsden. To join us, just turn up, or you can send an email using the details below to let us know you're coming.
