Sirkis leads the trio from the drumkit and has a delicate, almost melodic approach to playing the drums. The Asaf Sirkis Trio can be heard at Marsden Jazz Festival at the Standedge Visitor Centre at 8pm on Saturday 8 October. Stuart McCallumJohn Quail, New Stream director at Marsden Jazz Festival, gives a personal introduction to the finely honed multi-layered dreamy sound of Stuart McCallum. Barney Stevenson, festival Chairman, introduces the Submotion Orchestra. Submotion launched their debut album in June and have been making waves at festivals including Glastonbury, WOMAD and The Big Chill. Listen to "Finest Hour", the title track from their album.
