BBC Radio 3 Portraits Day

Two Marsden Jazz Festival 2012 New Stream artists featured on BBC Radio 3 on Monday 7 May. As part of National Portraits Day, Tom Challenger's subject was the pioneering American saxophonist Ornette Coleman and Shabaka Hutchings portrayed graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Tom Challenger's group Ma and Shabaka Hutchings' Sons of Kemet appear at Marsden Jazz Festival New Stream on Saturday 13 October 2012.
